People with Pacific Island heritage (Pasifika) make a significant contribution to the game of Rugby in Victoria. The numbers of Pasifika representation within the game of Rugby in Victoria are staggering. Approximately 65% of Rugby participants in Victoria are of Pasifika heritage, and similar numbers are represented in our Super Rugby, Super W, and junior pathways programs.

Melbourne Rebels and Rugby Victoria deliver programs that promote and support cultural values, identify, and promote community leaders, and provide assistance and support to encourage people to participate in the game of Rugby.

• We will continue to work together to deliver four key outcomes for Pasifika people:
• Using rugby to showcase Pasifika culture
• Unlocking Pacific talent in Victoria
• Building a professional pathway for Pasifika kids into the game
• Capacity building for players and for non-playing roles in rugby
