The Melbourne Rebels have today confirmed Leichhardt Oval as their “home” ground for their Vodafone Super Rugby AU Round 9 match against the NSW Waratahs on Saturday 29 August.
With border restrictions and Stage 4 lockdowns still in place in Victoria, the Rebels will continue their nomadic season, albeit at a venue they have registered two wins at already this year, having played host to their Round 5 and Round 6 victories against the Western Force and ACT Brumbies respectively.
That statistic will buoy the confidence of the Rebels, who understand that a victory in their penultimate regular season fixture is imperative in keeping their Super Rugby AU title hopes alive.
With just four competition points separating the top four sides on the ladder, and only the top three sides progressing to the Finals Series, both the Waratahs and the Rebels will be ready for this blockbuster next Saturday.
Tickets will be on sale from this Friday at 10am via TicketMaster and the Melbourne Rebels website. Adults $25 and kids under 17 only $10.
All Waratahs members will receive a 25% discount off the price of tickets and all registered NSW Junior Rugby players are able to redeem a FREE ticket to attend the match, with NSW Rugby to distribute redemption codes for such offers shortly.
The Rebels will host the Waratahs at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday 29th August at 7:15pm.
