The Melbourne Rebels are excited to announce today that in-form winger Lachie Anderson has signed on to the club for another two years.

Fresh off a dominant start to the 2021 Harvey Norman Super Rugby AU season, the new contract will see the Anderson at the club until the end of the 2023 season.

Anderson was part of the initial group of Sevens players who signed with the club alongside Lewis Holland and Jeral Skelton.

The trio switched to the 15 a-side game when COVID disrupted their 2020 Olympic preparations and signed with the Rebels for the 2020 Super Rugby season.

Anderson has had a break-out start to the 2021 season scoring on the wing in consecutive games against the Western Force and NSW Waratahs.

Lachie Anderson was thrilled to put pen to paper for another two years.

“The Melbourne Rebels are a fantastic club and have made me feel really welcome since coming here last year. Our results are really building and coming into the back-end of the competition I think we are going to be a threat.

“I’m really enjoying my time down here in Melbourne, I think there’s a great group of boys and we’re building something special,” he commented.

Rebels Coach Dave Wessels said, “We are thrilled to have Lachie sign on, he has come across from Sevens with a lot of enthusiasm and a real willingness to learn and has really thrived in the 15-man format.”

“Lachie has become a key member of our squad as he continues to grow and become more comfortable in this format. Scoring two tries in consecutive weeks speaks for itself.”
