The Melbourne Rebels Super W side will kick off their 2022 campaign with a trial match against the Brumbies at the newly redeveloped Lavington Sports Ground in Albury on Saturday, February 12.
The Rebels Super W team will be joined by the Melbourne Rebels A squad who will play a pair of trial matches against the Brumbies Runners A on Saturday March 12 and March 26 at the Lavington Sports Ground and Greenfield Park respectively.
Melbourne Rebels Super W Head Coach Alana Thomas welcomed the confirmation ahead of the Rebels’ fifth year in the competition.
“It’s a really important part of our pre-season, especially after last year’s trial that got postponed against the Brumbies, which ultimately meant our first hit out of the season was Round 1 of the Super W season,” said Thomas.
“This trial will allow us to put all the learnings from the past few months into practise and see where we’re at with the rest of the competition, so the girls are all really excited and we can’t wait.”
