The Melbourne Rebels have confirmed their trial games for the 2023 pre-season, with away games against the Fijian Drua and ACT Brumbies highlighting the Super Rugby Pacific pre-season.

The match against the Drua will be the first-ever trial match that Drua will host in Fiji, with Super Rugby heading to Prince Charles Park for the first time.

The Club’s second pre-season hit out will take place in Wagga and will see the Club participating in a double-header as the Super W team will also head up the highway to take on the ACT Brumbies.

The Club’s Super W pre-season fixtures have also been released, with the Brumbies featuring twice, sandwiching a match against the Western Force that is a make-up match for the cancelled finale of the 2022 season.

GM of Rugby Nick Stiles said the hit outs will give the Club great preparation for the season ahead.

“It’s been a very rewarding pre-season and both our men’s and women’s teams have worked really hard, with intention and purpose and we haven’t skipped any steps in preparation,” said Stiles.

“Our Club has strategically worked hard to improve our team cohesion since the end of last year’s Super Rugby Pacific season and these final matches will be a great launching pad for our season ahead.

“Having three trial matches against the Brumbies and the Force will provide our Super W team with the best preparation our program has ever had, which is really exciting for Jason and his staff as they continue to build momentum.”
