The Rebels' men's and women's team will train side-by-side for the first time in Club history on Saturday.

A whole of club approach will be on show this Saturday morning as the Rebels’ men’s and women’s teams will combine for a super training session, with both teams training simultaneously for the first time in Club history.

Fans of both teams are encouraged to attend as both sides will train and then come together to run coaching clinics with the Melbourne Brothers program.

There will be plenty of opportunities for a selfie or autograph, and a sausage sizzle, as well as food vans which will be on site.

Memberships for the fast-approaching Super Rugby Pacific season will also be on sale at the ground.

Melbourne Rebels GM of Rugby, Nick Stiles, said Saturday served as another great opportunity for the Rebels to build on its re-engagement with the Victorian community.

“We’re really excited about Saturday’s joint session at such a proud Victorian rugby club,” said Stiles.

"Both our men’s and women’s programs have been working hard in preparation for season 2022, and we can’t wait to show our fans an early glimpse of the progress made.

“After a challenging 18-months it’s been great reconnecting with the Victorian rugby community. The online coach education sessions the Rebels staff have been running, training at Harlequins and now taking our whole club to Moorabbin for our first every session together has been so rewarding.”

Melbourne Brothers Director of Rugby, Masi Tusitala, said his program was grateful for the Rebels’ support.

“The Melbourne Brothers is massive on unity and focused on connecting with the community, so it’s great to have such genuine support from the Rebels and Rugby Victoria,” said Tusitala.

“I think the Rebels’ presence – from both the men’s and women’s sides - will significantly boost the excitement for all our young players moving forward to next year.

“Having their rugby heroes come down and interact with them, I believe it will power them to then join up to a club or return to their existing clubs and play rugby.

“This is a really important day for our program, our community, Rugby Victoria and the Melbourne Rebels – I can’t wait.”
