Biography

Brad Wilkin is a powerful-mobile forward, whose preferred position is flanker.

Wilkin is originally from New South Wales, hailing from the small town of Wellington. Wilkin made a name for himself as a gun back rower for Shute Shield side Sydney University, while also representing the Junior Wallabies at the 2015 U20 World Championships.

Following his Shute Shield form, Wilkin was recruited by the NSW Waratahs in 2017 and earned six appearances for the side over two seasons.

Highlights

2015

Wilkin was selected in the Junior Wallabies squad for the 2015 U20 World Championships, making one appearance.

In the same year, Wilkin was recruited by Brisbane City in the NRC, appearing in five matches as a flanker.

2017

Wilkin earned his first Super Rugby contract when he was signed by the NSW Waratahs.

2018

Wilkin made his Super Rugby debut in Round 15 for the Waratahs against the Chiefs as a reserve flanker. Wilkin then held his spot in the side to register six consecutive games, and featured in the Waratahs semi-final loss to the Lions in Johannesburg.

While his Super Rugby season ended disappointingly, Wilkin would still taste premiership success as a member of Sydney University's thrilling Grand Final win over the Warringah Rats at North Sydney Oval.

2019

Wilkin joined the Rebels for the 2019 season and played in the side's first five games. In Round 6 against the Sharks, Wilkin re-ruptured his ACL and faces 12 months of rehabilitation.

The exciting young flanker will look to bounce back strongly in 2020, targeting a midseason return.
