Jermaine Ainsley is a strong and competitive front-rower, whose preferred position is prop.
Originally from Cromwell, New Zealand, Ainsley moved to Perth Western Australia and came through the WA talent pathway and played for the Western Force A side.
A breakout 2015 season in the WA's Premier Rugby competition saw him earn a spot on the Perth Spirit NRC roster, before joining the Force ahead of the 2016 season. Ainsley made his Super Rugby debut in Round 1 against the Melbourne Rebels, and would manage a further
Ainsley had a breakout Super Rugby season in 2017 and was rewarded with involvement in the Wallabies squad, and was named as a development player ahead of their clash with the Barbarians.
Ainsley took his Super Rugby cap total to 16 with 8 appearances during the 2017 season. In October 2017 he extended his contract at the Force by a year and after the 2018 Super Rugby season was selected for the Wallaby squad.
After two years at the Force, Ainsley signed with the Melbourne Rebels for two years, tying him to the Club until 2020.
Ainsley managed 15 appearances in first year at the Club. His impressive performances in the front row caught the attention of Australian selectors, who included him in the Wallabies' The Rugby Champion squad.
Ainsley then made his first appearance for the Wallabies against the All Blacks during the Bledisloe Test at Eden Park.
Ainsley was again a prolific part of the Rebels forward pack in 2019, playing 15 matches, mainly as a loose-head prop, earning eight starts in a highly competitive front row.
