Jermaine Ainsley is a forward, whose preferred position is prop.

Originally from Cromwell, New Zealand, Ainsley moved to Perth Western Australia and came through the WA talent pathway and played for the Western Force A side.

A breakout 2015 season saw him earn a spot on the Perth Spirit NRC roster, before joining the Force ahead of the 2016 season.

Ainsley had a breakout Super Rugby season in 2017 and was rewarded with involvement in the Wallabies squad, and was named as a development player ahead of their clash with the Barbarians.

Ainsley took his Super Rugby cap total to 16 with 8 appearances during the 2017 season. In October 2017 he extended his contract at the Force by a year and after the 2018 Super Rugby season was selected for the Wallaby squad.

After three years at the Force, Ainsley signed with the Melbourne Rebels through to the 2020 season, managing 15 appearances in first year at the Club.

Ainsley made his first appearance for the Wallabies in 2018 during the Eden Park Bledisloe Test against the All Blacks.

Ainsley was again a prolific part of the Rebels forward pack in 2019, playing 15 matches as a prop, while earning eight starts in a highly competitive front row.
