Michael Wells is a talented back rower who has recently juggled stint in both 15-a side and 7-a side rugby.
Wells' first season with the Rebels in 2020 comes on the back of some impressive performances for both the NSW Waratahs and the Australian Seven's sides, where Wells amassed 44 and 26 appearances respectively.
A Junior Wallabies squad member in 2013, wells made his Super Rugby debut in 2016 when he played for the Brumbies. The forward then signed on for the NSW Waratahs in 2017, where he has spent the previous three seasons in NSW's side as a prominent feature of their back row.
Wells was selected in the Junior Wallabies' squad for the 2013 IRB Under 20s World Championships.
Wells made his Australia Sevens debut at the Gold Coast Sevens tournament.
Wells made his Super Rugby debut with the Brumbies against the Stormers in Round 4.
Wells would play a further six games for the ACT side before announcing he would sign for with the Waratahs for the 2017 season.
Wells would play 15 games in his first season with the Waratahs, scoring his first Super Rugby try in Round 5 against the Melbourne Rebels.
Wells would become a prominent feature of the Waratahs back row, cementing his position as the first-choice No. 8 in his 18 games for the season.
Wells registered 11 appearances and a career-equalling high of two tries during the 2019 season.
At the end of the year, wells announced he would play for the Melbourne Rebels for the 2020 Super Rugby season.
