Rugby is truly a game for every body, and this is never more prevalent than when it comes to Rugby players of all abilities.

Wheelchair Rugby

Disability Sport and Recreation Victoria (DSR), the governing body of Wheelchair Rugby in Victoria, has partnered with Rugby Victoria to strengthen the community support of wheelchair rugby and open this exciting sport to new spectators and fans. The competing teams in the Victoria Protect Wheelchair Rugby Cup have the names and club colours of four of Victoria’s strongest rugby union clubs as part of the growing ties between the two sports.

The four clubs are Box Hill RUFC, Harlequin Rugby Club, Power House Rugby Union Club, and Melbourne Rugby Club. The competition spans 12 weeks with two seasons per year.

The Victoria Protect Wheelchair Rugby Cup is seen as Australia’s premier domestic state-based competition and is a regular source of talent for Australia’s national team, the Steelers.

The Melbourne Rebels are proud to work with DSR and Rugby Victoria to grow the game in Victoria to further heights.
