The Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby Women’s side have fallen to the Queensland Reds in a thrilling match at AAMI Park for Round 4 of the Super Rugby Women’s competition.

The Reds led the game, with a 14-0 lead into the break, before the Rebels fired up, with an increase in physicality a fightback was well and truly underway.

Week in and out Jayme Nuku proves to be a handful for opposition defences, and she dotted down for another five-pointer in her debut Rebels season.

Melbourne started to find their groove and were first on the scoreboard in the second half, hooker Jayme Nuku touching down between the posts after a pick and go, which was set up by some fantastic wide play from the backs.

The Rebels’ forwards continued to cause havoc for the Reds, with flanker Mel Kawa carrying through for their second try, making the contest a tight game with only two-points in it.

The Rebels had all the ball as the clock wound down, but couldn't get over the line, with the Reds forcing a defensive turnover to retain the lead and close out the game.
