The Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby Women's Team have confirmed their side for Saturday's final trial against the Queensland Reds. In a day hosted at the local Geelong Rugby Union Club, it will be an afternoon of fun for families out in our community.
Rebels Super Rugby Women's Head Coach, Jason Rogers has selected a 31 player team, after a strong start to last week's trial against the Force. The team are looking to build even further, with Round One of Super Rugby Women's kicking off on March 15.
Capped Wallaroo, Grace Hamilton will take to the field for the first time as a Rebel, while the impressive Crystal Mayes will look to stand out again in the midfield. The powerful Laiema Bosenavulagi headlines a strong forward pack, who aim to take the ball to the line and test the Reds in the contact zone.
A day full of community activities for all ages is set to take place beforehand at Geelong, brought to the local club grounds by Community Partner The Transport Accident Comission (TAC).
With a Youth Girls Sevens tournament starting off the day at 12pm, grassroots rugby fans will be able to catch a glimpse of the future of Victorian Women's Rugby. Followed by a Kid's Rugby Clinic open to all from 3pm, before the Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby Women's side face the Queensland Reds in their second trial match.
Remember, we all have someone to drive safely for.
